Star come and go in daytime soaps, some after a long period of calling the show a home while others just after being there for a while. The latest one to go in "General Hospital" is Tyler Christopher who plays Nikolas Cassadine.
Nick Stabile Temporary Replacement
ABC's daytime soap is going to have a new dark prince, Nick Stabile, who temporarily fills in for the character of Nikolas Cassadine, TVLine confirmed. No word on when fans will first see Nik's new look in "General Hospital" and until when Stabile, known for his role in "Sunset Beach" (1997), will stay.
Soap show is nothing new to Stabile. He played Dean Hartman in "Days of Our Lives" in 2009 and appeared in several TV series including "Dawson's Creek" (1999), "Half & Half" (2004), "CSI: Miami" (2006), and "Saints & Sinners" (2007). He is also known for starring in "Bride of Chucky" in 1998 and "The Beach Boys: An American Family" in 2000.
Why Tyler Christopher Left
It was a rather long contract negotiations according to reports, and apparently, Tyler Christopher and the GH management were not able to reach an agreement that would see the actor staying. The specific reasons that he was leaving were not disclosed. But according to Daytime Confidential, which broke the news of the recast, sources said that Christopher asked for some time off for personal reasons.
The 43-year-old actor has been with "General Hospital" since 1996. He just recently won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He is also known for his roles in "Beyond the Lights" (2014), "Out of the Black" (2001), and "Shouting Secrets" (2011).
