Is the era of war the best years of our lives? Or perhaps the adjustment to civilization proved to be difficult for the three men who fought in the war and had to endure such as they return home. The film, "The Best Years of Our Lives" tells that story.
For some black comedy, there is also "MASH" a movie in a Korean War setting. The title of the film is an abbreviation for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. This follows a story about a group of mobile surgical hospital armies carrying their mission against a conflict that is miles away from their position.
"The Big Parade," meanwhile, is a silent film set in World War I, starring John Gilbert and Renee Adoree.
