George R.R. Martin's new "The Winds of Winter" chapter that he shared during Balticon last week may have been all about Aeron Greyjoy, but it also revealed that the "A Song of Ice and Fire" author could have big plans for Euron Greyjoy. The character has already been introduced as a mean uncle in "Game of Thrones" Season 6, but Aeron Greyjoy's "The Forsaken" chapter from TWOW also hints on George R.R. Martin's huge plans for Euron Greyjoy in ASOIAF!
Aeron Greyjoy's "The Forsaken" Chapter In "The Winds Of Winter"
George R.R. Martin warned the audience that his new "The Winds of Winter" chapter will remind them of Ramsay Bolton (via Vulture). However, Aeron Greyjoy's chapter may have proven that Ramsay Bolton isn't the worst character in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. In "The Forsaken," Aeron Greyjoy is revealed to have been locked away in a dungeon by his brother Euron Greyjoy, who has repeatedly abused him over the years. Euron Greyjoy has also murdered three of his brothers (including Theon's father Balon) and plans to do the same thing to Aeron Greyjoy. Unfortunately, killing his brothers isn't the only thing Euron Greyjoy wants to do in George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter."
Will Euron Greyjoy Try To Claim The Iron Throne In "The Winds Of Winter?"
George R.R. Martin's new TWOW chapter also features Aeron Greyjoy's vision, where he sees Euron Greyjoy sitting in the Iron Throne. It is a terrible sight, because the Iron Throne is decorated with the corpse of several gods, including the Drowned God. "The Forsaken" concludes with Aeron Greyjoy being tied to the prows of Euron Greyjoy's flagship as his cruel brother prepares for battle against the Iron Throne in "The Winds of Winter."
Aeron Greyjoy may be absent from "Game of Thrones" Season 6, but Pilou Asbaek's Euron Greyjoy is beginning to show his dark side in the HBO show. Hopefully, "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will finally reveal that Euron Greyjoy is a force to reckon with, as he is in George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter."
"Game of Thrones" Season 6 airs on HBO every Sunday nights. "The Winds of Winter" release date has not yet been announced but will hopefully be published by 2017.
