‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Portraits Reveal Looks of Harry, Ron, Hermoine and Draco In Character

The opening of the two-part stage play of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is past approaching, and we get to see the first look of the stars who are going to play the Harry Potter characters via Pottermore.

The Weasley-Potters

The first portraits released show Harry, Ginny and Albus Severus Potter as they would appear in the play. Harry will be played by Jamie Parker, who J.K. Rowling says "simply is Harry now." Poppy Miller will be Ginny Weasley and their son, Albus Severus, will be played by Sam Clemmett.

The Granger-Weasleys Things wouldn't be complete without Harry's best friends, of course. J.K. Rowling is also pleased with Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, saying that she "gets Hermione inside out." Ron Weasley will be played by Paul Thornley while their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley will be portrayed by Cherrelle Skeete.

The Malfoys

The portraits of the Malfoy father and son were also released. Draco Malfoy will be portrayed by Alex Price and his son, Scorpius Malfoy, will be played by Anthony Boyle. J.K. Rowling loves their looks because they appear as if they are actually related.

Picking up the story 19 years later after "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows," the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will open in at the Palace Theatre London this July. There will be preview performances beginning June 7.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is based on the original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. From the official website, the synopsis reads: "It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

"While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."
