The thing about autism is that this what many term as a disability is not seen on an outward appearance. Some autism parents tried to express about the things that they find difficult about raising a child with autism.

A blog of Lauren Casper, explained some of the difficulties parents have to face when raising a kid with autism, including herself. She was once asked by a friend about how hard it is to raise a child with autism and how keeps herself together.

Now, when a parent of an invisible special needs child is being asked with these kind of question. It is normal, that they should be allowed to have a moment of pause. In reality,they will not even know where to begin to explain it.

To Lauren, she just doesn't want to think about other people anymore. They do not know her and her family's story. Instead of other people tried understanding meltdowns and sensory issues, it is true that an autism parent will only get starring, glaring and dirty looks from most of them. Even relatives she said can be hard. Especially if the family member does not really live with you under one roof and you are being judged as a bad mother on a once in a while visit.

It's also worse if people will stop their sneer towards the parent and divert their sneer towards the child instead. Lauren admitted how much it hurts her. It is hard enough to feel helpless that your kid will have to endure the ridicule and judgment by other adults. Your ability to shield you child with autism cannot be forever. There is also the bully of his age groups that can give a parent a nightmare.

It's hard enough being a parent of an autistic. Yet when you think of your special needs kid. He is trying every day to make sense of the world around him. Let's at least give him a credit for trying. He is a fighter who tries his best to cope, because this is how it feels like to them:
