Research reveal that some people are more prone to being anxious compared to their peers. It was revealed that each person's anxiety levels which are highly based on the person's emotional experience.
According to BP Hope, a new study which was aimed towards anxiety mentioned that people who developed their anxiety due to an emotional stressor are more anxious. The collaboration study was headed by Prof Rony Paz and Dr. David Israeli which was published in the Cell Press Journal, Current Biology.
The researchers reveal that a patient who suffered from anxiety which was triggered by emotional experiences has a long term effect. It releases plasticity within the brains circuits which eventually remains even the panic attack is over.
"Anxiety traits can be completely normal," Dr. Paz said. "There is evidence that they benefited us in our evolutionary past. Yet an emotional event, sometimes even a minor one, can induce brain changes that can potentially lead to full-blown anxiety."
Though there is no certain cure for anxiety, it was revealed that constant therapies can potentially ease and decrease panic attacks. Though some would improve their anxiety disorders through therapies, there are those that were in dire need of medication.
Some may think of anxiety and panic attacks as a mental health condition, but according to Daily Mail, succeeding panic attacks can be a sign of higher intelligence. It was revealed that those with anxiety have higher tests results in gauging their intelligence.
The study participated by more than 120 students reveal the strong correlation of anxiety and intelligence. In a Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale revealed that the students who suffered from anxiety came up with higher scores compared to their peers.
"It is possible that more verbally intelligent individuals are able to consider past and future events in greater detail, leading to more intense rumination and worry," the researchers said.
