Olive Pearl Owen is finally here. Olive is the first child of singer Jake Owen and wife Lacey Buchanan.
As the whole nation celebrated Thanksgiving Day, it was an occasion of double celebrations for the singer and his family as their bundle of joy arrived the same day.
The 31-year-old new dad confirmed the baby's birth and posted her first photo on Twitter. "Today is the greatest day of my life. Welcome Olive Pearl Owen. 6lbs 3 oz Turkey Baby!!! Happy Thanksgiving," he wrote, unveiling his newborn daughter to the world.
"Needed a celebratory refreshment and break from hospital... Rotiers Nashville," he wrote later, after posting a photo of Rotiers Restaurant in Nashville.
Now the proud father is reportedly busy planning the little daughter's upbringing.
"Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family," Owen, told People magazine. "We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her."
Owen married model Buchanan May 7 in a small ceremony in Vero Beach, Florida, exactly one month after their engagement. The couple announced the pregnancy and gender of the baby in July.
"If she's anything like Lacey she'll be the most beautiful little soul ever," the expectant father told Us Weekly after revealing the sex of his unborn child. "I'm so excited."
Early this month, Owen had revealed his intention to name his daughter after his late godmother Pearl, who died in July shortly after the couple announced the pregnancy news.
In 2009, songs "Easy Does It," "Don't Think I Can't Love You," "Eight Second Ride" and "Tell Me," from Owen's second album entered the charts. Title track of his third album, "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" became the first No. 1 single on the 2011 Country chart.
