"Days of Our Lives" remains to be among the most popular and watched TV series on NBC for decades already. The cast of the TV series has been going in and out, and characters have been recast for several occasions already. According to new reports, Abby will be recast and Freddie Smith will return.
Abby Will Get Burn and Get A Surgery?
Parent Herald previously reported that Kate Mansi is leaving "Days of Our Lives." Her character is one of the favorites in the show, so the production decided not to kill Abby but recast her instead. Marci Miller is set to replace Mansi as Abigail or Abby in "DOOL".
It seems that "DOOL" is already prepared for Marci's takeover. According to CelebDirtyLaundry, Abigail's condition worsens and she will be hurting herself. Per the report, Abby will hallucinate and see Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). She will grab some matches that will set the mental institution on fire.
Abby will get burn. In fact, she will be badly injured. As a result, she might need plastic or reconstructive surgery to repair the damage. This will be a perfect plot to give the character a new face.
Freddie Smith Returns In 'Days of Our Lives'
On a side note, according to Enstarz, Freddie Smith will return on "Days of Our Lives" to reprise his role as Sonny Kiriakis. Fans will see Smith again in July and the actor will be staying on the show for a little while this time.
His fans announced his return to "Days of Our Lives" on their Facebook fan page. "Freddie fans! We are so excited that Freddie is now able to announce that he is back at #Days on contract!" they wrote.
"DOOL" executive producer Ken Corday teases that with Sonny's return to Salem, his one-time romance with Paul (Christopher Sean) could be rekindled. "Sonny returns to Salem to help his family through tough times and his relationship with Paul [Christopher Sean] grows," Corday said. "Paul will be coming more to the foreground with Sonny back in town."
