Muhamad Ali passed away on June 3 at the age of 74 and his younger brother, Rahaman Ali, had nothing but kind words to say about his deceased sibling during the memorial service for the legendary boxer.
Muhammad died in Phoenix, Arizona from septic shock caused by unspecified natural causes, Rahaman said. Before his death, the three-time world heavyweight champion also battled Parkinson's disease for 32 years.
According to the latest reports, Rahaman was very emotional during the service for his brother two days after his death. The memorial service took place at the King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. His brother was photographed weeping uncontrollably as the passing was sudden.
Hollywood Life shared that the church where the memorial service took place was just a short distance from where Muhammad spent his childhood. The service lasted for two hours and it was assisted by pastor Charles Elliot III. He asked the congregation to stand in honor of the former heavyweight champion of the world at one point of the service.
Muhammad was dubbed as "The Greatest" in the boxing world and Elliot shared during the service, "There is no great man that has done more for this city than Muhammad Ali." The father of Elliot reportedly knew Muhammad very well when he was still alive as they launched anti-hunger program in the city. The coffin of Muhammad will be taken through the streets of Louisville this June 10.
Accordingly, it was the speech of Elliot that sent Rahaman to tears. At one point, he was seen placing his hands over his face as he began to sob uncontrollably. Rahaman was also emotional during other parts of the service. He was seen choking back the tears as he sang along to hymns and swayed from side to side during the service.
In a recent interview with Rahaman, he said that his brother was an angel and was a God-sent blessing to Earth. He also regarded Mohammad as sweet, kind, nice, and the world's most famous person. He added, "God blessed him because he was such a sweet person. My mother and father were sweet, good people, and he came from good stock. He was a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful man, he will be missed."
