"Vikings Season 4" midseason finale was one for the books with a massive defeat for Ragnar Lothbrok by his traitorous brother Rollo, played by "Taken" star Clive Standen. Lagertha also gave fans a scare after she was stabbed in Paris in the "Vikings Season 4" midseason finale.
According to Entertainment Weekly creator Michael Hirst promised that despite events leading up to the finale, Ragnar Lothbrok is far from gone from "Vikings Season 4." When the series returns with the "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere, Hirst says fans will see an extraordinary continuation of Ragnar Lothbrok's story, thanks to Travis Fimmel's performance.
Michael Hirst points out that despite the strong side stories, the series had always been about Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons as "Vikings Season 4" will go on to tell. When "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere comes around, Ragnar Lothbrok will be returning from a lengthy disappearance from Kattegat following his defeat from Rollo.

Michael Hirst further said that the "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere will also lead up to how Ragnar Lothbrok will take up his revenge on King Ecbert of England. The wily English king has not seen the last of Ragnar Lothbrok and in fact, their reunion will be a driving theme for Kattegat's erstwhile king in "Vikings Season 4."
