GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump Donates $25,000 To Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi Before Cancelling Involvement In Trump University Fraud Probe

Another news is besmirching what is left of Trump University's merit. Recently, Florida Attorney General and Trump supporter, Pam Bondi, was found to have received a donation from Donald Trump when her office was deciding whether or not, it will join a fraud probe involving the said university.

Records show that Pam Bondi's office had been receiving complaints from Trump University's alumni. These were dissatisfied consumers who did not get their money's worth from the university and were demanding for a refund (via Orlando Sentinel).

Bondi denied receipt of these documents and claimed that during that time, she only took hold of one complaint. Most of the cases that reached her office concerned Trump Institute which is different and separate from Trump University (via Orlando Sentinel).

Apparently, last September 17, 2013, the GOP-presumptive Presidential candidate Donald Trump handed Pam Bondi a $25,000 donation. Soon after, Bondi's office announced that it won't be partaking in the New York investigation regarding Trump University (via The Associated Press).

Marc Reichelderfer, Pam Bondi's political consultant on her re-election bid, spoke in behalf of his client and answered questions from the press. He told The Associated Press that Bondi received Trump's donation without knowing about the existence of the said complaints.

She has already exchanged meetings with Donald Trump before her office dismissed the prospect of joining any legal investigation of Trump University. According to Reichelderfer, Bondi and Trump were done with a series of negotiations when the donation was finalized and received (via The Associated Press).

This is not old news as Donald Trump admits giving money to politicians in order to receive favors from them. He has also helped Florida monetarily since 1999, donating $253,500 that Republicans mostly benefitted from (via The Associated Press).

As per Florida Politics, Pam Bondi publicly announced her support of Trump by joining the candidate's campain rally in Tampa last March. She believes in the kind of leadership Donald Trump proposes.

"We have been friends for years, and I know his family personally. I’ve seen first-hand how he leads, and how he cares deeply about the people of this country. If elected president I know he will bring America’s best minds together to preserve what we have, and secure what we need, for the future," she said as was reported by Florida Politics.
