Activision is making sure that fans of the "Call of Duty" franchise are going to keep loving the video game. Despite declaring that it will have no booth at the E3 expo in Los Angeles this June, its followers will not be disappointed. The publishing company has some amazing things planned for "Call of Duty," especially with the upcoming release of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" in November.
Among these, Activision is planning the return of its biggest "Call of Duty" XP fan event in September, where gamers will be able to test out "Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare" on virtual reality (VR). There are also hints that Jon Snow, Kit Harington, might be part of the new game. Here's a roundup of what fans can expect from "Call of Duty" in the coming months.
"Call of Duty" And Jon Snow?
Mashable reports that Kit Harington, popular for his role as Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones," has apparently shot a few videos for "Call of Duty." The news outlet shared a clip of the actor filming "between the two mocap rigs." It suggested that he is in a familiar set most "Call of Duty" gamers would recognize. A closer and more detailed photo of the set was posted on Geek Tyrant.
It is not known whether this shoot is part of a promo for "Call of Duty" or if it's part of some scenes within the game. Activision is keeping mum and Jon Snow is not saying much as well, except to reveal that he shaved off his "Game of Thrones" beard to work on this exciting project.
"Call of Duty" XP Fan Event, "Infinity Warfare" VR
Meanwhile, Activision also revealed that it has set its "biggest fan event in history" in September. Venture Beat notes that the last time this type of gathering was mounted was in 2011. This partly explains why Activision has skipped its E3 participation as it is preparing an event of its own. Tickets to the "Call of Duty" XP gathering, which are priced between $50 to $200, will begin selling on June 11, and the actual event will take place at Inglewood in The Forum from Sept. 4 to 6.
During the "Call of Duty" XP, fans will be able to witness the Call of Duty World League finals, where $2 million worth of prizes will be given away. Activision will also be showing off its "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered" games in the virtual reality format. Three will be exhibits and fans can ask developers questions. There will also be musical presentations from famous artists. Watch this video below to learn more about the "Call of Duty" XP:
