'High School Musical 4' Cast: Sorry, Ashley Tisdale Says No More HSM Comeback -- Or Did She?

"High School Musical" fans expecting to see former cast members back for "High School Musical 4" could be in for another disappointment. After Zac Efron squashed hope he's going to do a cameo in the upcoming TV special, Ashley Tisdale implied she's also not willing to reprise her role for HSM -- or did she?

Ashley Tisdale's Decision On "High School Musical 4"

Ashley Tisdale talked exclusively with New You and when asked about "High School Musical 4," the actress gave a confusing reply. She said that being part of the show ten years ago was perfect timing. "[It] was so pure that I just don't know how you go from there," she said.

She also reflected on how the original cast members of "High School Musical" shared a magical experience that develops into deep friendships born out of their collective experiences doing the TV musical. To this day, they are still the best buds.

"Disney is an amazing company so I'm sure they'll find some way to do it," she added. However, her statement was not so clear. Did she mean the studio is going to find a way to bring them all back, or find a way to create a similarly magical experience for its new cast?

Nevertheless, in another interview with Access Hollywood, Ashley Tisdale said she has no idea what's going to happen in the new show. "I'm not a part of it," she said in the video.

The original "High School Musical" star also revealed that while she thinks Sharpay, her character in "High School Musical," was "awesome" and a blessing, it's not who she'd like to play over and over. She acknowledges the journey she went through after snagging the part of Sharpay and then later moving on to other projects. She believes that playing the snooty and spoiled high schooler helped her grow better as a person and an actress.

Ashley Tisdale has expressed a similar sentiment back in 2011 after having played Sharpay four times. She told Radar Online she's done playing the character and she's moving on from her alter ego.

Meanwhile, "High School Musical 4" is still looking for its five main stars. The first wave of auditions received 5,000 interested applications, per Parent Herald. Disney should be making a confirmation of the cast soon.
