There has been much talk about whether or not Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green would face a ban due to his recent string of violent behavior on the court and some questionable behaviors off of it. However, it has now been confirmed that Green would miss possibly the deciding game of this year's NBA Finals series.
In the recently concluded fourth game of the 2016 NBA Finals, Green drew the ire of Cavs fans everywhere when he dealt a low blow to star player LeBron James, afterwards exchanging some heated words with him. As the Warriors player was only one flagrant foul away from a one game suspension, the league had no choice but to disallow him from participating in Game 5.
Draymond Green's suspension could possibly spell trouble for the Golden State Warriors. Green is not afraid to do battle at the board, leading his team in rebounds with an average of 9.6 a game in the postseason. Green's rebounding totals were crucial to the Warrior's close game win in Game 4.
His average of 15.3 points per game also puts him 3rd in the Warriors scoring chart this postseason, per reports from The Guardian. Green's scoring was important in helping the previously misfiring "Splash Brothers," Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
Other professional players from the NBA have come out and gave their two cents on Green's suspension. And the consensus seems that a lot of them disagree with the ban, as seen in the report from Fox News. They lauded the officiating in Game 4, but said suspending Green was the wrong call.
As the Golden State Warriors only need one more win to win their second title in as many years, they still remain heavy favorites to become the 2016 NBA Champions. This is also coupled with the recent form the aforementioned Curry and Thompson have found.
