With rumors and speculation coming in from every possible direction, and with an author who has an uncanny fancy for multiple plot twists, it is hard to determine which statements and reports about "Game of Thrones" actually true. Just recently, fans have run amok after Kit Harington joked about Emilia Clarke's character dying in the show.
Daenerys Targaryen, played by the aforementioned Clarke, is one of the fan favorites on the show. However, Harington, who plays Jon Snow, jokingly said in a radio interview that she would be killed off in a future episode. Harington was clear to set things straight however, after he revealed that he would make such things up about the show in order to stop fans from asking him about spoilers, says the International Business Times.
Aside from his joke about the "Queen of Dragons" being killed off in a future episode of the show, Harington had also told a number of people that Peter Dinklage's character, Tyrion Lannister, is set to lose a leg. Harington said that he just goes "all out" with the things he makes up regarding the show.
According to Express, although he made it clear that it was a joke, a lot of fans were still upset especially after he also said that his character would not be resurrected for the current season after being murdered by his own men in the finale of the show's fifth season. Fans were glad though, as he was resurrected in the first episode of season six.
Despite this, Polygon notes that there is a large possibility that Daenerys may still die on the show. "First, she can turn out to be the central villain, aiming to rule all of Westeros and putting her at the top of everyone's blacklist. Second, author George R.R. Martin seems to have a knack of killing off conquerors, similar to Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa), Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and Rob Stark (Richard Madden), among others."
They also note that "third, Daenerys could be murdered by her own dragons, which she cannot fully keep under control. Fourth, she may be killed by the Whitewalkers, considering that her dragons are the ultimate threat to their domination."
