E3 2016 Update: New 'God of War' and 'Resident Evil' To Be Unveiled By Sony in The Expo

Sony's E3 press conference was one of the most awaited among all of those set to happen in this year's E3. In the end Sony did not disappoint, with their press conference being lauded by fans and critics alike. They had major announcements regarding fan favorite IPs as well as some new ones fans will definitely be clamoring to get their hands on.

One of the biggest headline makers Sony presented is a new "God of War" game. This is what fans have been waiting for since the last one came out at the turn of the decade. However, the developers of the game has made a big change, giving protagonist Kratos a change in scenery from Greek to Norse mythology.

According to a report from Forbes, the game will feature Kratos as well as a young son who he is trying to train to become an effective hunter. Gameplay footage from the Sony press conference shows Kratos saving his son from demon-like attackers and afterwards he finds himself in a boss fight. Unfortunately, he is accidentally shot by his son with his bow and arrow.

Another crowd pleaser from the event is the brand new Spider Man video game. Superhero video games have a bad rap considering that not a lot of them live up to the expectations of fans. Thankfully, the trailer for this upcoming Spider Man game gives fans a lot of hope for what's to come.

For fans of far grittier games, Sony also announced a new Resident Evil game in "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," per The Guardian. What's impressive is that the whole game, from start to finish, can be played using PlayStation VR. Also featured in the event were games such as "Detroit: Become Human" as well as zombie adventure "Days Gone," with the controversial "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" also making an appearance.
