For old school gamers, especially the 90s kids, "Crash Bandicoot" was a formative part of their video gaming experience. While the "Crash Bandicoot" series will unfortunately not be getting a new installment, gamers will be glad to know that previous games in the series will be getting a new coat of paint in a remaster for the current-generation Playstation 4.
Kotaku editor Luke Plunkett states that the games that will be getting a remastered version are "Crash," "Crash 2," and "Crash Warped." Those three games will give older gamers many hours of entertainment, while also introducing "Crash Bandicoot" to the younger generation of gamers. This is a wise move by the developers in terms of a remaster since these are considerably the three most popular Crash games.
While this is not the return to the limelight "Crash Bandicoot" fans had hoped for the titular character, they will be glad to know that Crash will feature in te upcoming iteration of "Skylanders." The Starter Pack featuring "Crash Bandicoot" will be a PlayStation exclusive, but one will be able to buy and play with him on any video game platform since only the starter pack is exclusive.
In "Skylanders Imaginators," "Crash Bandicoot" will be a fully playable "sensei" with his own toy. According to reports from Forbes, this means that Crash will have his own special attack or "Sky-chi" power. Reportedly, this would be a devastating spin attack using his highly recognizable yo-yo.
This is definitely a piece of good news considering that there hasn't been any announcements surrounding the "Crash Bandicoot" video game series in a number of years. However, there are some fans that fear that Crash will only get stuck in an endless string of reboots and remasters and will not get a brand new game. Hopefully, this will not be the case.
