Blake Lively is up against the "king of the ocean" in her new movie, "The Shallows." She revealed they shot the film largely without the help of a stunt double. And at least part of the movie was shot while carrying her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds.
Blake Lively told ET on her behind-the-scenes interview that only in the last two weeks of shooting the production hired a stunt double. "Every single day there wasn't a single scene that wasn't stunt-heavy," she added.
While filming "The Shallows," Blake shares on the underwater sequences; she would be seen dragged by 4.5-foot waves. "Whether I was in the tank or when I was in the ocean, I was about 300 yards away from shore." And finally, on a rock that was three feet by three feet, reports Xposé.ie.
The later scenes of the "The Shallow" were shot in Malibu, California in April; but not as physically intense as the earlier ones. Blake Lively was already pregnant with their second child.
Regarding the upcoming movie, "The Shallows," Blake Lively describes when people are in the wild, like the ocean, people would find themselves in the land of big, incredible, majestic wild creatures. And like what other surfers experience and experts observed when wearing a wetsuit, these sea predators see you as a seal or their food.
