It's a girl for popular Backstreet Boys singer A. J. McLean. The 34-year-old new dad announced the happy news on his website Tuesday.
"Rochelle and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby monkee Ava Jaymes McLean," he wrote. "She arrived at 4:51 a.m. weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz. We are so in love with our bundle of joy and happy to have started our family now."
McLean later shared the news with his Twitter followers.
"I have an announcement to share!" he wrote, giving a link to the baby announcement posted on his website.
The proud father's Twitter account has been overflowing with messages from well-wishers and fans since then.
"Congratulations AJ Im so very very proud of you," one of the followers wrote, while another said "Awww, I'm gonna cry *-* I'm so happy for you and Ro!"
McLean married makeup artist and hair stylist Rochelle Deanna Karidis, December 17, 2011 in Beverly Hills, California. The couple announced they were expecting their first baby April this year through YouTube.
"I just wanted to say thank you guys for all your love and support...Because we love you all so much, we wanted to share with you - for the first time - something very special. We're having a baby," Hollywood Life quoted McLean as saying.
The expecting parents were a little bit worried about the delay in their baby's arrival and expressed their concern.
"Come on AVA!!! It never takes Mommy this long to get ready!" Rochelle Tweeted on the baby's due date, Nov. 24. "Being punctual is a great quality to have!! Now come out so we can see you!!"
The father had also earlier expressed his concern through a video posted online.
"No baby yet, we're still waiting," E! News quoted McLean saying in the video. "Ava's being a real stubborn little girl...just like her dad."
