Nintendo NX News & Release Date: Nintendo Talks About Virtual Reality, NX Specs And 'Zelda: Breath of the Wild"

We can't deny that Nintendo had a great E3 press conference largely in part to them showing their brand new Zelda game, "Zelda: Breath of the Wild." However, these were not the only big announcement to be made, as Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé also revealed a lot about the direction they are going with virtual reality technology and the Nintendo NX.

Nintendo has made an announcement, which looks like they will be staying away from virtual reality technology, according to reports from TechChrunch. The official statement they released states "So the way we look at VR or even AR, which we do have within our Nintendo 3DS system, or us, the technology has to be at a point where it can be mainstream, then it takes content creating companies like us to really make things that the consumer wants to experience."

"That makes the consumer want to jump into that particular technology. That's how we move it forward. We've been looking at the VR space since the days of the Virtual Boy. With us, we want to make sure that our next content is going to be mainstream, mass market approachable, and when VR is at that point, you can expect Nintendo to be there," their statement adds.

As for Nintendo NX, Nintendo has said that they are not after specs or "horsepower" in marketing their latest console offering. Instead, the company will be more focused on the content as Nintendo believe that will be its largest selling point. Fans seem to agree with this after seeing the new Zelda game running on the weaker specs of the Nintendo Wii U, says reports from Forbes.

This can only spell good news for the Nintendo NX because it will definitely look better than what the Nintendo Wii U can ever offer. It has enough power to match the current generation Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4.
