Mom Thankful For Man Who Was Kind To Them When Her Son Was Bullied

What parent wouldn't hurt if other people will just take advantage of their children's weakness, or even disability? What's hurtful enough is it's not even the kids his age that bullies your kid but an adult and you wonder what were they thinking?

This is what went on in Nina Jain's mind when her son had a traumatic experience in a public restroom area where an adult man took his son's glass and put it inside the toilet bowl for him to reach. She wrote her personal narrative experience on the Autism Parenting Magazine website.

As an overprotective mother herself, she tried to do everything she can so that her child will be in good hands including monitoring the people around him. She mentioned that to those who know her son, it has become a routine to see movies every Friday and have the food that he likes. Until one time, it was ruined by some intelligent guy that her son encountered at the bathroom.

As parents it hurts when there is not even a word that would answer to our question why such people bully kids with disabilities. Even so, she mentioned the she forgave the offender and thanked the kind manager who helped out calm her son down. He apologized for the incident beacuse even if he doesn't have any control over it, it happened in the area he was managing. He took the boy to a different room that could help him calm down. Before they left the manager gave him a poster and free tickets for the next show.

While this mother was saddened about those who has treated his boy unkindly, she is grateful to those who are kind. She beleives that people still possess a compassionate and understanding heart. They went home happy.

It seems that bullying is becoming a norm everywhere even if there are already advocacies to end bullying. The National Education Association is one of the advocate organization that aims to end bullying.
