Artificial Intelligence Latest News & Update: Scientists To Create AI ‘Kill Switch’ To Prevent The Rise Of AI Against Humans

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making big strides in most if not all fields of science today - from revolutionizing healthcare to fast-foods, education and other businesses. AI's ubiquity has also been seen as a potential solution the numerous problems the society is currently facing.

The prevalence of artificial intelligence as well as its increasing uses and benefits, however, are not enough for people to fully embrace and accept the concept of AI. As a matter of fact, some AI experts has warned about the existential risks of artificial intelligence.

Scientists Create Artificial Intelligence 'Kill Switch'

Considered as one of the most controversial and most debated technologies today, the development of artificial intelligence also comes with some major perils, including AI software programming glitches, cyber-attacks vulnerability and misunderstanding human instructions. Fortunately, a team of scientists have decided to develop a technology that will stop AI from learning too much information.

According to Tech.Co, Google's artificial intelligence department Deepmind has collaborated with Oxford University to create a "kill switch" technology. This technological innovation specifically addressed the issue where AI could learn how to stop human intervention from stopping its existence.

Even though there are already a number of software that could safely regulate and control artificial intelligence development, scientists are reportedly optimistic regarding the implementation of the "Kill Switch" technology but skeptics are still worried if humans can really stop the threats of AI.

The Rise Of Artificial Intelligence Is Going To Be Amazing

It has been long predicted and even depicted in several science fiction films that artificial intelligence may take over the world. In fact, those predictions and depictions weren't wrong because the rise of AI is indeed coming and it will reportedly make "amazing things possible," Singularity Hub claims.

"AI is coming," Vivek Wadhwa wrote in an article published by The Washington Post. "It is going to be in our TV sets and driving our cars; it will be our friend and personal assistant; it will take the role of our doctor. There have been more advances in AI over the past three years than there were in the previous three decades."

Sacramento Kings Introduces Kings Artificial Intelligence (KAI)
