Nowadays, Teens Are All Over Twitter, Snapchat For The Latest News

Most of today's teens need not worry when, where, or how to remain updated with what's on the news, as more are relying on technology and social media every minute. And the results are no longer a surprise.

Apart from Google searches on what's featured trending in the realm of news, entertainment, celebrity and fashion, etc. - teens also check the news via different apps to stay current with the latest news, according to a Tech Insider post. Generation Z individuals (or those teens aged between 13-18 years old) are seen constantly on their smartphones, seemingly doing social media for status updates or what not.

However, these teens actually spend their time checking on news feeds as well, either via Twitter or Snapchat. Some of the feedback gathered on teens using apps for news said that they use apps via these social media networks to read on the news which were already pre-selected according to their topic choices.

So far, a bunch of the interviewed teens also responded relying on these social media networks for the news, and not Facebook. The social media site has come under fire a few months back over ex-employee revelations on some conservative issues (as topics) being filtered by Facebook.

This growing norm with teens using apps on Snapchat and Twitter (as these are considerably the leading ones) for the news has become part of daily life, with young teens being ranked as the lowest population group to turn towards the conventional way of learning the news with newspaper or magazine reading, in a related Realist Investor post. Despite the convenience of speed and easy access, it is still recommended to go back to the regular way of getting the news, as there's also the risk of proper verification from reliable news sources and that these information can be easily misunderstood.
