"Game of Thrones" Season 6 finale titled "Winds of Winter" marked the end of the HBO drama's latest season. With George R.R. Martin still writing the sixth book of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, the upcoming season of the series is rumored to be its last.
Den of Geek notes that "Game of Thrones" is down to its last thirteen episodes on air and HBO is already considering making a spinoff for the series when it comes to an end. After all, there is a lot of story to explore, including a prequel, which will ultimately show the events that led to the battle for the Iron Throne.
The publication notes that the "GOT" prequel spinoff may focus on Robert Baratheon's rebellion, which means that the HBO series will cast younger actors to play the roles in the prequel. As most fans can recall, there is a lot of backstory involving Robert, Ned Stark, John Arryn and even the mad King, Aerys Targaryen.
MensXP also notes on the possible actors and actresses to play the roles of these younger characters in the "Game of Thrones" prequel. According to the publication, James McAvoy should play as young Ned Stark.
The 37-year-old actor is best known for his role in the "X-Men" movie franchise as Charles Xavier. Should the "Game of Thrones" prequel really come into play, the network would also need to cast actors for younger Robert Baratheon, Jaime, Cersei, Tywin, Catelyn and Lyanna Stark.
