'Jurassic World 2' Air Date, News & Update: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard Film Could Have Been Different? Human-Dinosaur Hybrid Had Been A 'JP4' Plan?

"Jurassic World 2" could have become a slightly different story for Chris Pratt, who plays "Indiana Jones" type Owen Grady, and Bryce Dallas Howard, as Claire Dearing. Concept art by Seth Engstorm revealed decisions that director Colin Trevorrow and executive producer Steven Spielberg made to make "Jurassic World" the blockbuster that it became.

Movie Web reports that concept art now shared in Seth Engstorm's blog included scenes that had been considered for, but did not make, the final "Jurassic World" cut. These scenes that Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg voted out would have given "Jurassic World" a different taste.

Foremost in the "Jurassic World" deletions is the Indominus Rex chewing on the head of a robot T-Rex. In the end, removing the Indominus Rex making a meal of a robot T-Rex made for a better direction for "Jurassic World."

"... I don't necessarily think about all of the reasons why, how it might be interpreted by people," Colin Trevorrow said of the change. "Steven (Spielberg) has a really good eye for how things will be processed, and he saw that and didn't want anyone to think that we're saying our CGI dinosaur is biting the head off of an animatronic, and destroying animatronics and asserting its dominance."

Movie Web also cites that previous plans for "Jurassic Park 4" were just as off-key for what "Jurassic World" eventually became. According to the media outlet "Jurassic Park 4" almost included a hybrid of human and dinosaur.

As it is, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will now see Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in "Jurassic World 2" have to come to terms with a global opening of the dinosaur tech that had once been exclusive to InGen. Military grade dinosaur hybrids that fight crime as cited by a separate Parent Herald article in "Jurassic World 2" will be a far cry from the entertainment theme of the past.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be directed by "Penny Dreadful" and "The Impossible" director JA Bayona in "Jurassic World 2." Theater release for "Jurassic World 2" is set for June 22, 2018.
