It seems as though Google has dabbled in every single industry under the sun, but now it has put a specific focus on education. The search engine turned technology superpower recently unveiled two new features that they hope will revolutionize the way students learn their lessons in school. The first of these features is Google Forms Quizzes while the other ones are known as Google Cast for Education and Expeditions Pioneer.
Google Forms has been most peoples go to when they need to make surveys and other types of forms. Now teachers can make use of the quizzes function on Forms to create multiple-choice exams that will automatically be graded once the students submit their answers. Once the teachers get the results of these exams, they can see where in their lessons they need to put more focus on.
The next feature is Google Cast for Education, which will act as a sort of spiritual successor to the considerably successful Chromecast. 9 to 5 Google reports that this new feature will have much of the same features as the previously mentioned Chromecast, but will have specific features for teachers built in, to improve their students learning experience.
For some students, going on field trips is much too expensive or in some cases even dangerous. This is where Google's new Expeditions Pioneer application comes in handy. Expeditions Pioneer will allow entire classes to go on virtual field trips to all kinds of places, even some that are impossible to visit, per reports from Tech Crunch. As of writing this report, the Expeditions application is currently free to download in the Google Play Store.
Expedition kits are also available from Google partner Best Buy. Although this kit is the pricier option, it contains everything a class needs from Android Devices and a router to virtual reality devices.
