Cori Salchert is a mom with eight kids of her own, but as a bereavement nurse, being compassionate is ingrained in her. She has devoted her time to care for babies who are born with debilitating or terminal illness. She calls these "hospice babies," whose own parents have refused to raise, so she adopts them.
She knows these babies do not have a lot of time and admits this is not an easy thing to do, especially when the babies have health problems. But the mom says that the least she can do is to show them that they are still worthy of care and love despite their condition. She's also showing a great example to her own children, who help her take care of the hospice babies.
