‘Fallout 4’ Latest News & Updates: PS4 Mods Beta Delayed Indefinitely? Reasons For Delay Still Unknown

Oh no! Bethesda Game Studios has recently announced that the release for "Fallout 4" PS4 mods closed beta has been delayed indefinitely. The announcement was made through a Twitter post but the reasons have yet to be revealed.

After the release of "Fallout 4" mods on Xbox One in May, PS4 gamers have been waiting for its console debut on the Sony platform. Unfortunately, Bethesda suggested that the much-anticipated release won't be happening soon.

"We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed. We will update everyone when we can," Bethesda posted on Twitter.

'Fallout 4' PS4 Delay Due To Size Difference?

Despite the fact that Bethesda has yet to reveal the reasons behind the delay, there have been speculations claiming that the size differences may be one of the factors for the postponement. According to Engadget, Sony has put up a mods limit for only 900MB while Microsoft allows for 2GB.

With that said, Bethesda seems to be facing this challenge for "Fallout 4" PS4 version, not to mention other issues that the game publisher also needs to address. Hence, Bethesda is currently unable to launch the mods on Sony consoles.

Memory And Performance Issues Causing 'Fallout 4' PS4 Version Delay

Aside from the limited mod storage, the delay for "Fallout 4" PS4 version may be due to other issues such as the memory and performance problems, WCCFTECH reveals. Fortunately, Bethesda had announced that the "Fallout 4" team is collaborating with Sony to the issues that have been causing problems.

Even though Bethesda has not specified any reason for the delay, several other issues have been cited that may have caused some problems in meeting the original schedule for "Fallout 4" PS4 version release. Among the issues were the problems with the game's sound files and the inability to use PC textures, Forbes notes.

'Fallout 4: Contraptions' DLC And 1.5.4 Update

In other "Fallout 4"-related news, Bethesda has recently released the "Contraptions" DLC, as well as the latest 1.5.4 update, which reportedly brought general bug and glitch fixes in "Fallout 4." Meanwhile, the official "Fallout 4" site for its mods (mods.bethesda.net" was reportedly updated with new features. Additionally, a new time-based filter was also launched to all major categories on the site, VG24/7 reports.
