"The Blacklist" Season 4 may find a breakup between the FBI and "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" actor James Spader as Red Reddington. This comes as a fallout by betrayal from Megan Boone as Liz Keen and Susan Blommaert as Mr Kaplan in the mother of all twists at "The Blacklist" Season 3 finale.
Melty points out that when "The Blacklist" Season 4 opens, Red Reddington will be in a precarious psychological position believing that he does all for the sake of Liz Keen. However, Liz Keen forsaking her identity as Elizabeth in and faking her death in "The Blacklist" Season 3 to get away from Red Reddington is undeniable rejection.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Megan Boone revealed that Liz Keen will continue to be motivated in "The Blacklist" Season 4 by the belief that Red Reddington does everything out of self-interest. Even when Red Reddington believes he is helping and protecting Liz Keen, the wily FBI asset does so with selfish intent.
According to the The Wall Street Journal "The Blacklist" Season 3 twist was kept secret from cast and crew until the very end. Citing executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, the scenes in "The Blacklist" Season 3 where Liz Keen "came back to life" were all shot in secret.
Interestingly Jon Bokenkamp also tells The Wall Street Journal that although "The Blacklist" Season 4 will still be underpinned by the dynamics between Liz Keen and Red Reddington, the Post Office team will expand. Mossad agent Samar Navabi (Mozhan Marnò), who worked closely with Red Reddington in "The Blacklist" Season 3, may be the most affected by the fallout between the FBI asset and Liz Keen.
Jon Bokenkamp also pointed to Assistant Director of Counterterrorism, Harry Cooper (Harry Lennix), whose may go into darker places in his arc as "The Blacklist" Season 4 develops. Most importantly, Season 4 will unveil of the Post Office team will be able to recover from Liz Keen lying to them.
As "The Blacklist" Season 1 revealed, Red Reddington is not the father of Liz Keen. As "The Blacklist" Season 3 revealed, Alexander Kirk aka Constantine Rostova (Ulrich Thomsen) is the father of Liz Keen.
However, "The Blacklist" Season 4 will continue to reveal that there is more than meets the eye in the connection among Liz Keen, Red Reddington and Alexander Kirk. NBC will resume these complexities at "The Blacklist" Season 4 premiere this fall.
