"Sweet Home Alabama" star Josh Lucas is enjoying each and everything about fatherhood, even one of the most difficult duties of parenthood - sleep training infant son Noah Rev, People magazine reported.
Noah Rev is the first son of Lucas with wife Jessica Henriquez. He was born June 29 in New York.
The first-time parents started to sleep train their 5-month-old son recently.
"Everyone says it's the greatest adventure you'll ever have and I'm amazed at how much I'm loving it," the actor told People Monday. "It was incredibly difficult. The child is enraged and hates you. And yet you're totally sleep-deprived and amazed by the experience - even when he's screaming - of what you're going through."
The 41-year-old actor, who referred to fatherhood as a "beautiful thing", also revealed he was enjoying his new role. Lucas took Noah to watch "Wreck-It Ralph" recently. The proud father was thrilled with his son's first movie theater experience.
"I took him to a Tiny Tots screening, which is where you're allowed to bring your baby," Lucas told the magazine. "He sat there with his mouth wide open. He literally watched 15 minutes with his mouth agape and then passed out like he'd been shot."
After meeting freelance writer Henriquez and falling in love in 2011, the actor confirmed their engagement in January. The couple tied the knot in March and announced the baby news a few days after the marriage.
Lucas, who started acting at the age of 19, starred in a series of TV sitcoms and shows before making his feature film debut in Frank Marshall's movie "Alive". Lucas strengthened his acting career with his roles in the films "Sweet Home Alabama," "A Beautiful Mind" and "Hulk".
