"Game of Thrones" fans will have to wait a year from now before season 7 will be released and that is a pretty long time, all things considered. Luckily, news outlets have been releasing a list of things to expect and look out for in the seventh season of the hit HBO "GoT" series.
"Game of Thrones" fans have been clamoring for the show's seventh season just moments after the sixth ended. The show runners made it clear that they were already at the final stretch of the show, with only about 10 to 15 episodes remaining after the conclusion of season six.
"We're approaching the finish line. From the outset, our hope was to tell a complete story - beginning, middle and end. We are writing the final act now, and the last thing we want to do is stay on stage after the play is over," said David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
The first episode in the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is a clash of queens wherein Daenerys and her forces, along with her mighty dragons, will finally make their way to Westeros to confront Cersei, cited the Hollywood Reporter.
The latter does not have much of a chance against this type of opponent, but it will be interesting to see what type of fight she will put up. A battle between the Kings of the North will also probably occur in "GoT" season 7, with Jon Snow as the ancient Night King set to meet once more on the battlefield.
The Starks are set to reunite "Game of Thrones" Season 7 with the Lannisters set to follow suit. Jon Snow's Targaryen roots are also set to show, with him possibly getting on the back of dragon sometime next season or the one after that. There will also be a much smaller setting for the show's seventh season, bringing character closer than before.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will closely follow the books, possibly even the unpublished "The Winds of Winter." The Wall is also set to fall to provide a way into the Seven Kingdoms, something theorized as far back as last year, per reports from the Independent. Finally, fans should expect a much faster story with only a few episodes of the show left.
