Blizzard's 'Diablo 4' Not Happening At All? Game Director Mosquiera Out

There's already rising media talks of a sequel to "Diablo 3" after its successful release 4 years ago, and Activision's Blizzard Entertainment could be breaking ground on a new "Diablo". Following the huge success of "Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls", the aftermath of Josh Mosquiera's departure as the recent "Diablo" game director also has the company waiting on a replacement.

Jay Wilson's successor as director, Mosquiera has been famously credited as one of the brains behind the popularity of "Diablo", according to Forbes. Since the release of "Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls" last 2013, the RPG has amassed more than 2 million in sales during its first week and reached up to more than 30 million worldwide.

Rumors of a "Diablo 3" expansion pack are also in talks these days, as Blizzard Entertainment continues its plan on further expanding its fan base with fresh, new content. Still, hints on a "Diablo 4" are being dealt with by the folks over at Blizzard.

The company is also doing a bit of restructuring in their ranks. Currently, "Diablo" and its accomplices are into maintenance mode. This is most probably due to Mosquiera no longer working hands-on with the noted slash/hack ARPG. Still, fans have been calling on Massive for Mosquiera to join the company in resolving loot concerns for "The Division" series.

Anyhow, the people at Blizzard have credited Mosquiera on putting "Diablo 3" at a truly good spot in the gaming realm. In a related Mobile & Apps post, a Blizzard spokesperson said that Mosquiera's departure was his take on 'Diablo" success, delving into other opportunities in the industry.

The company also pointed out that Mosquiera leaving has considerably slight impact to the rest of the "Diablo" team. Mosquiera's great work and contribution had given noted financial success to Blizzard and they are anticipating on his next work.
