There is no doubt that "Orphan Black" is one of the most successful science fiction drama to hit the BBC America network. Unfortunately, the series is down to its last season with "Orphan Black" Season 5. However, there are talks about a potential spinoff or movie.
'Orphan Black' Season 5 Will Culminate The Clone Drama Series
For fans who have been wondering why the successful series only last five seasons, it was what the series was intended for. The "Orphan Black" co-creator Graeme Manson admitted that ending the series in season 5 is a decision he made with John Fawcett and Tatiana Maslany.
"John and I made a pact that we would stay with the show until the end, and for a long time we've had a pretty good idea that season five would be the furthest that we could take the ball down the field," Manson told the Hollywood Reporter.
No Major Deaths In 'Orphan Black' Season 5
On the same interview, Manson disclosed that killing off a character in "Orphan Black" season 4 is "super hard." This leads Christian Today to question if there will be no major deaths in Season 5.
At the time, we can't confirm that the new season will not feature any death. However, Manson hinted that there are very valuable characters that will surely remain alive in "Orphan Black" season 5. Unfortunately, the creator declined to mention names.
'Orphan Black' Movie Or Spinoff In Consideration
Although "Orphan Black" will be leaving the small screens after its fifth season, there are talks about a potential spinoff or movie. "We've always jokingly said we 'd love to do a movie, but those aren't things that, at this point, that we know are going to be happening at all. I think we're looking forward to a rest."
Per Design & Trend, Tatiana Maslany may star in the "Orphan Black" spinoff. It is also likely that if they push the movie, we will see the same stars.
TV Line reported that "Orphan Black" Season 5 would air with 10 episodes. The new season will debut in 2017.
