Eric Gunderson's wife is pregnant with a baby boy, the "Love and Theft" musician's rep confirmed the news.
Gunderson and his wife Emily Hagar announced the pregnancy news in November. The latest news comes as a fulfillment of the 28-year-old's dream to have a son.
"I'm so excited to have a boy," the proud father-to be told People magazine. "Emily would be happy either way, but I've been secretly planning father/son hunting and fishing trips all along."
The baby is due in May. However, the country star has some plans in mind for his son.
"I might even let him try his hand at guitar, although, you know those musicians are a handful," he told the magazine.
Though Gunderson prefers to have a baby boy first, he would like to have a daughter also.
"Obviously, I'm just hoping for a healthy baby," Gunderson told Taste of Country in November. "But I was the oldest in my family and I was a boy...I think it was cool for my sister to always have an older brother. I think I'd like to have a boy first and then a little girl, but I'll take whatever I get!"
Like the expecting father, mom-to-be Emily also has her own dreams about the unborn baby.
"I'm beyond excited to share another journey through life with my best friend and husband," Emily, who married Gunderson in April 2010, told Tase of Country, while confirming the pregnancy in November. "I pray not only for a healthy baby, but for a baby that is as talented in music as his sweet and handsome father!"
