Success Story of A 9 Year Old: Hilde Lysiak, Aspiring Journalist, Lands Book Deal And Film Rights

Hilde Lysiak, the 9-year-old aspiring journalist who broke a murder story in her neighborhood, has earned a lucrative book deal. Reports confirm that the young girl has signed up with Scholastic publication to write a children's book series. Her father, Matthew Lysiak, is searching for a production that could potentially do the book's film and TV version.

Deadline reports that Hilde Lysiak's book deal covers four stories meant for readers between the ages of 6 to 8-years-old. Entitled "Hilde Cracks the Case," the first in story in the series is expected to be on shelves by fall 2017 with new releases following every few months. The actual titles of the four books in the series are "Hero Dog," "Bear on the Loose," "UFO Spotted" and "Fire! Fire!"

"Hilde Cracks the Case" will be based off stories that Hilde Lysiak has actually done throughout her young and flourishing career as a journalist, albeit with some fictional facets. It has been described as similar to the "Nancy Drew" and "Harriet the Spy" book series that young kids have loved reading for decades.

Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Hilde Lysiak's dad is shopping the book's rights for a potential film or TV series offering. It is not yet known whether the 9-year-old will also be doing the script should her books land a movie or TV deal.

Hilde Lysiak became an internet sensation when she reported on a murder that took place near her residence. She runs her own news site, Orange Street News, which she set up at age 7.

Parent Herald reported in April that the girl was criticized for being in a crime scene. Some pointed out that 9-year-old girls should be playing with dolls instead of following scoops and reports. Her parents defended that being a journalist was the young girls' passion and they're not about to stop her from doing what she loves. Learn more about this successful 9-year-old in the video below.
