The HTC One M9 along with the HTC One M9 Plus, the supposed successor to the HTC One M8, has been anything but a secret lately. Rumors about both phones specs, price, and more have been spreading online.
HTC is reportedly releasing a new flagship phone that will come in two versions as stated by India Times: the HTC One M9, codename Hima; and the HTC One M9 Plus, codename Hima Ultra. While nothing has been confirmed yet, news on alleged specification of the HTC One M9 Plus have reportedly been leaked online.
According to Tech Radar, the HTC One M9 Plus has recently been rumored to have a bigger screen than the HTC One M9, but not by much. The Hima Ultra will have a 5.2-inch screen, while Hima will only have a 5.0-inch screen. Aside from the screens' sizes, the two phones are reported to ahve different resolutions as well. There is some talk of the Hima Ultra having a WQHD display, while the Hima will stick with a 1080p screen.
The rest of the specifications that have leaked for the HTC One M9 Plus are also worth a look. The Plus is said to come with a touch-based fingerprint scanner for starters, which may be a leverage over its competitor, the Samsung's Galaxy S6. The phone will also have BoomSound speakers with Hi-Fi Audio, a 20.7MP camera at the back and a front camera with a speculated 4MP to 13MP.
The HTC One M9 Plus may also run on Android 5.0.2, with Sense 2.0, Blutooth 4.1, and Category 6 4G for downloading speeds of up to 300Mbps. It will also reportedly include an octacore Snapdragon 810 processor with four cores. Four of the cores will run on 2.0GHz, while the other four will run on 1.5GHz. The distribution of power on the cores is most likely due to the concern for power consumption, even if the phone is rumored to come with a 2849 mAh battery. In addition, the Hima Ultra will come with 3GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of storage. The HTC One M9 Plus does seem like a formidable phone.
The phone is reported to release on March 1, 2015, before the opeing of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on March 2, 2015. However, International Business Times has reported that there will not be an HTC One M9 Plus released with the HTC One M9, but instead the Desire A55 will be released. The only way to confirm these rumors, though, is to wait for the Mobile World Congress a few weeks from now.
