'Magic Mike 2' Release Date, Cast, & Trailer: New Teaser Shows Channing Tatum & Joe Manganiello Stripping

Channing Tatum reprises his role as Mike in "Magic Mike XXL." The long awaited sequel to "Magic Mike" has finally been confirmed with a trailer and a poster to boot. The trailer was revealed on the Ellen Degeneres Show on Wendesday, February 4, 2015.

According to NY Daily News, Channing Tatum teased "Magic Mike" fans on Tuesday, February 3 2015. Tatum shared the official movie poster of "Magic Mike XXL" on his Instagram. He captioned the picture with, "Look, but don't touch...until tomorrow. Tune in to @thellenshow!. #MagicMike XXL." The heartthrob also tweeted the same message on his Twitter account.

The fans of Ellen Degeneres were still greatly surprised on Wednesday, Feruary 4, when the official teaser trailer for "Magic Mike XXL" was shown on her show -- despite Tatum's hints. The trailer starts with Tatum in a warehouse practicing some of his dance moves. It later shows a series of shots with the other main characters of the movie -- Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Joe Manganiello, and Adam Rodriquez -- dancing their own sexy moves with various ladies.

To add to the shock, and pleasure, of the trailer, Tatum, himself, appeared on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" as a surprise guest after the "Magic Mike XXL" trailer was shown to the audience.

The talented star also mentioned a little spoiler on the show about a dance number in "Magic Mike XXL." As reported by E Online, Tatum revealed that there will be a dance number between Stephen "Twitch" Boss and himself. When Ellen asked Tatum if the two would be dancing in thongs the actor replied, "Maybe in thongs." Ellen asked again "In thongs," to which Tatum conceded by answering, "Yeah, in thongs."

"There's just nothing - there's nothing," he followed. "Very little left to the imagination."

Other than Twitch, some other new actors will be appearing in "Magic Mike XXL." As of now the following actors are said to appear: Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Michael Strahan, among others. Other than Tatum, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Joe Manganiello, and Adam Rodriguez will also be reprising their roles. However, Matthew McConaughey, Olivia Munn, and Alex Pettyfer will not be returning for the sequel.

Meanwhile, Steven Soderbergh, the director of "Magic Mike" in 2012, will not be heading the sequel. Instead, Gregory Jacobs will helm the film. Jacobs has revealed little about the plot of the movie, but has told PEOPLE that "Magic Mike 2" is a "road-trip" movie. He has also revealed that it will not be as dramatic, emotional, or dark as the original "Magic Mike" that came out in 2012. "Magic Mike XXL" has already attracted a lot of attention, now all that's left is to wait for its release on July 1, 2015.
