"Pokemon Go" gets a thumbs up! Well, so far the game has delivered what it has promised.
As a "Pokemon GO" trainer you get to take nice long walks while capturing a range of Pokemon as you go. The little avatar of you corresponds to your real world location on the map. As you walk, you will come across various "pokestops." These are landmarks in the neighborhood with a description which follows a picture.
You need to go to the stop from where you can get a few items. These usually include three or four pokeballs, some revives, potions or an egg. As you walk, voila! a Pokemon occasionally appear around you!
You need to tap them and take the camera out. Once you do that you will be able to see the little creature in the world around you. All you need to do is to throw a ball right and the Pokemon is yours. It is now ready to train, evolve and fight.
The fun that "Pokemon GO" offers includes the chance to explore your neighborhood through 'different' eyes or explore while travelling. The game is generous as you will get to procure a limitless supply of pokeballs within a few minutes. Also, the pokestops can be recharged in no time.
Even Pokemon are plentiful! However, the concept of fighting with a wild Pokemon is not too clear. Also, the developer has opted for a real-time battle system instead of the traditional turn-based combat. The fights, so far, are not full of strategy. "Pokemon GO" needs improvement on these aspects.
Only 50% success rate can be attributed to gym battles so far. But, for a game on its Day 1, it is pretty commendable. There are times when you will encounter zero Pokemon on the way. Is this strange? Or is it a bug?
At times you might stop accruing "stardust," an upgrade material for training your creatures. Is this a gate or a bug?
"Pokemon Go" demans the player to divide their attention between the game and real world. However, it does not explain the game and the things that happen in it properly. If the developer does not want the players to meet with accidents, they need to provide more clarity!
It was fun! Upgrade loops are doubtful though. A better explanation about the "Pokemon GO" game is expected. A few technical problems are faced too.
There are games which live forever. Let's hope that "Pokemon Go" evolves! Final Word - FUN!
