Drew Barrymore is very happy and proud of her little bundle of joy. The new mom opened up about her infant daughter, Olive, during an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday.
"She is a good baby," People magazine quoted the actress. "I count my lucky stars every day because she is ... and really interactive and happy and nice to people. She's a nice person."
Barrymore gave birth to Olive Barrymore Kopelman on Sept. 26. She is the first child for the 37-year-old actress with her art consultant husband Will Kopelman. During the chat, Barrymore revealed the factors that inspired her to choose the name Olive for her daughter.
"I never would have guessed that would have been the name," Barrymore told Us Weekly. "But I was reading a book with my husband, and I was three months pregnant. They said your baby is the size of an Olive and that was it. We never looked back."
Little Olive's good behavior has given Barrymore a positive impression about motherhood.
"Olive is a definite ambassador to having lots of babies," she told People. "I have met babies who are screaming and they're crying and they're trying to convey all these things, and you get so terrified and overwhelmed. I'm very grateful to her. She really has it together ... She's really impressing me."
Rumors of the actress expecting her first child started immediately after her engagement to her boyfriend Kopelman in February. However, Barrymore kept mum on the topic. It was only in June, after tying the knot with Kopelman, Barrymore confirmed her pregnancy.
