A lot of Americans depend on healthcare plans in order to get the proper medical attention at hospitals and their subsequent medication at pharmacies. The president of the country has a large say on how these healthcare plans will work. According to a new independent study, if Donald Trump will be elected as president at the end of President Obama's term, it will leave an upwards of 18 million Americans uninsured.
This would be a large blow to many in the lower to lower middle class in the United States. What's worse is that a lot of these people have only had these healthcare benefits for a considerably short time after Obama Care was put into effect. According to an article from Chron, Donald Trump's policy would be much stingier than Obama's if it indeed were to be put into effect. It would also have little effect on those covered by Medicare and by medical insurance provided by their respective employers.
There are some upsides to Donald Trump's healthcare plan, but a lot of people believe that these still can never outweigh the negatives that it would bring. It would lower premiums for the policies that are directly bought by the consumers themselves. Also, there is a chance that taxpayers will save quite a lot of money due to the fact that the government will no longer have to subsidize insurance for millions upon millions of American citizens.
The research was conducted by the Center for Health and Economy. It is composed of both liberal and conservative experts, as they try to see the effects of the policies that have been outlined by the candidates in this year's US elections. Donald Trump's policy would also allow people to buy insurance across state lines, which some experts believe is very much a wild card.
