Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S6 have been circulating around recently as fans of the Galaxy series await the next installment. And just this weak the Korean Tech giant accidentally released major infomation the other day, confirming some rumors.
There had been rumors going around that the Galaxy S6 would come in two versions. The rumors seemingly proved correct when Samsung accidentally posted support pages for two new phones, reports Yahoo! News. The posts have been taken down, but not before Galaxy Club, a Dutch publication, took screenshots of the support pages, says Forbes.
Thanks to Galaxy Club, we now know the two model numbers that were posted on the Samsung site -- SM-G920X and SM-G925X. The models numbers were seen on Samsung's Finish and Swedish sites, states Yahoo! News.
Samsung's mistaken posts puts some truth in Tech Radar's belief that the Galaxy S6 will be joined with the Galaxy S Edge. In fact, another Forbes reports notes that the company has trademarked the names, "Galaxy S6" and "S6 Edge." This puts some weight in the rumor that there will be two versions of the phone.
According to Yahoo! News, the "S6 Edge" will have two curved sides. SamMobile also noted that the two screens will be curved less than the Samsung Note Edge phone. The 30 to 50 percent less curve is most likely due to the devices smaller size. The phone's volume and power buttons, which are also located at the sides, also contribute to the lower curvature.
Forbes notes that the "S6 Edge" may have a 5.1-inch QuadHD Screen at 2560 x 1440 pixels. It will possibly run on Exynos 7420 64-bit octa core CPU with 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The rear camera of the phone is said to be 20MP.
With the exception of the two curved edges, most sites seem to suggest that the "Galaxy S6's" specs will be similar to the "S6 Edge."
As for the software of the two phones, Forbes states that there will be a change. Due to the complaints of bloatware with Samsung TouchWiz, the company has implemented some changes to their system. Owners of the "Galaxy S6" and its Edge version will now be able to delete unwanted or unnecessary apps.
Yahoo! News reports that the two new phones will be released on March 1, 2015, in Barcelona, Spain at the Mobile World Congress 2015.
