There are a lot of restraunts in New York City that can make Valentine's Day special for everyone.
For a traditional Valentine's meal, try Candle Cafe or Botequin. The International Business Times lists these two restaurants as good places "to impress your date."
The Candle Cafe can be found in two locations -- at 1307 Third Avenue and 2427 Broadway. This is a good place to take anyone who is vegetarian or is allergic to gluten. It has an eco-friendly kitchen and features a menu of organic and vegan food all year round.
The branch located at the Upper East Side will be serving a three-course prix-fixe meal for Valentine's Day. The meal will cost $65 - presumebly per person - or $95 if it is paired with wine. Meanwhile, the one located in the Upper West side will also be serving a three-course meal for $74, $105 with wine pairing.
The Botequin is a Brazlian restaurant located on 132 Fourth Avenue, in the East Village. The Botequin will be serving a special meal for V-day -- the Carnival-Valentine's Prix-fixe dinner. The meal costs $75 per person. Diners can watch Samba dancers while eating.
For those who want to try something adventurous for Valentine's Day, NY Eater suggests eating actual hearts. If this sounds interesting, try Happy Family and Cafe Arzu.
Happy Family is an Asian restaurant that serves Northern Chinese cold-weather stews. It is located at Moma PS1, 22-25 Jackson Avenue. Customers cook the food themselves at the restaurant. The menu includes lamb, beef, pork, and chicken heart.
Cafe Arzu, on the other hand, specializes in kebabs cooked Uzbekistan-style. It is located at 101-105 Queens Blvd, Queens. It is interesting to note that the restaurant serves skewered chicken hearts cooked over charcoal.
If eating hearts on V-day is too much, but having an ordinary dinner seems unappealing, there are other fun and interesting options.
App.com states that there will be a Valentine's Day Cruise lunch aboard the "Spirit." It is an all-new lunch buffet cooked by celebrity chef Eric Levine, who is Food Network's "Chopped" champion. Diners can enjoy eating while seeing some famous NY sights from the boat. Go to reservations.entertainmentcruises.com for more information.
Last but not the least on this list is the Sweeter Than Sugar Valentine's Tour, recommended by Bill Robinson of the Huffington Post. This tour travels to different bakeries in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village. The tour is run by Sarah Rolleston and Allyson Tolbert. They talk about V-day history and answer questions about New York City during the tour.
The first stop of the tour is City Cakes, which is famous for their $3.50 half-pounder cookies. This bakery has made birthday cakes for Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Rowling. Robinson specifically mentions the "killer red velvet" cookie which has cream cheese baked inside.
Valentine's Day is meant to be spent with others, so why not spend it somewhere special as well. Try visiting these restaurants on hearts day.
