Pacquiao vs Mayweather Fight 2015 Contract Details Revealed; Drug Test Clause Confirmed

After six whole years of waiting, the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight is closer than ever to coming true, according to Bleacher Report. The report adds that there has not been an official announcement of the fight, but details about it will be revealed little by little.

Recently, a report by Paolo Romero of Phil Star stated that Pacquiao had pushed for a $5 million fine for positive drug tests to be put into the contract. The drug clause was supposedly suggested because of the multiple allegations that Mayweather uses performance-enhancing drugs.

Pacquiao said about the drug clause, "I've no problem with drug testing. In fact, in the contract, I was the one who suggested the $5-million fine if one is tested positive for drugs. I was the one who inserted that because that's needed."

The Telegraph states that both sides have agreed to a pre and post-fight drug testng program, according to Pacquiao's side. The United States Anti-Doping Agency will conduct random drug tests leading into the fight. Meanwhile, the Nevada State Athletic Commission will be dealing with all other matters concerning the fight.

So far, the Telegraph states that the two camps have agreed on a policy stating that both boxers will be using 8-ounce gloves for the fight. They have also agreed to hold the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The suspected date for the fight is May 2, however there are two other possible dates. The two sides have also agreed that Mayweather will be announcing the fight, once the contract is settled.

There was some speculation that Mayweather would announce the fight during the All-Star game in New York City this weekend as he was attending the event. However, none took place.

During an interview with TNT -- as seen on the video below -- he said, "It's not true. I've not signed yet. He's not signed yet. It's all speculation and rumor."

Daily Mail reports of rumors that there are only two issues left to deal with in the contract. One issue is between Showtime and the HBO television network that is linked to Pacquiao. The second issue centers on the two rival beer companies which sponsor the boxers.

The Telegraph states that the whole fight is expected to cost $250 million. Daily Mail adds that Mayweather stands to make $150 million, while Pacquiao will make $100 million.

Mayweather is taking his career earnings to over half a billion with this fight, but will also be risking his title and status as an unbeaten fighter.
