There have already been rumors and leaks stating that Samsung's Galaxy S6 and HTC's One M9 will be appearing at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona this March. Other flagship phones are expected at MWC 2015 as well, but one source has stated that the LG G4 will not be among them.
The Korean Times has released a report saying that the G4 will actually be released in April, states Tech Radar. The Korean publication's source states, "LG Electronics decided not to release the G4 at the Mobile World Congress exhibition in March. It may release it in April."
Tech Radar reports that the late release of the G4 is not really shocking as the G3 was released last year in mid-May. With an April release, the phone will be avoiding the release of the Samsung's Galaxy S6 as well as the upcoming iPhone. The late release will also be speeding up LG's production cycles, says the report.
Another source from Korean Times states, "Samsung usually releases its new flagship model in the first quarter of each year, and Apple in the second. We need some in-between time to make a bigger splash."
Phone Arena reported that G4 developers "will spend more time perfecting the new phone," said an LG executive.
According to Android Geek the new flagship phone of LG is expected to have "beastly technical specifications." It will have a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with improved brightness and better viewing angles. The phone's camera will also recieve an upgrade. It will run 64-bit Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM.
Even though the G4 might not be released at the MWC, LG still has other devices that can take center stage at the event.
The Korean mobile company has already introduced a new smartwatch called, the "LG Watch Urbane," reports Android Geeks. In addition, GSM Arena states that the G Flex 2 will also give other companies' flagship phones a run for their money. The Flex 2 runs Snapdragon 810 and has 3GB of RAM.
The Korean Times reports that Cho Juno, LG Electronic's mobile chief, will talk about the company's business strategies with Korean reporters during the MWC 2015.
It must be noted, however, that most sites do not trust the accuracy of the Korean publication's reports. So, there is still a tiny possibility that the LG G4 will be unveiled during the MWC this year.
