Xperia Z4 Release Date & Specs: Android 5.0 Lollipop UI Leaked [Photos]

A set of photos have been leaked, which allegedly show the Z4 running Android's 5.0 Lollipop.

Design Trend states that the pictures can be seen on Xperiablog.net, which received them from a Chinese source. According to Phone Arena they came in the form of UI screenshots. The report adds that photos show no evidence that the phone in the pictures is not the Z4.

In fact, there is one shot that clearly shows the "About phone" section which indicates the device is powered by Snapdragon 810. Phone Arena believes this is further proof the handset seen on the photos is a flagship device; therefore, none other than the long-awaited Xperia Z4.

Techno Buffalo reports that the photos show what Android Lollipop will look like on the unannounced phone. According to GSM Arena, the device stays loyal to Google's Material Design, with only slight modifications from Sony. Techno Buffalo adds that Android's influence can be seen on the phones setting menu, dialer application, and clock.

Most sites report that one of the pictures suggests the phone showcased is the dual SIM version of the Z4. Phone Arena has released two possible model numbers for the new phone. The first is PM-0850-BV, which is for the single SIM device. While, PM-8051-BV, is allegedlly the model number for the dual SIM handset.

According to Design Trend, if the Z4 is released it will be the second smartphone released by Sony to have a dual SIM variant. Phone Arena states that the two versions of the new Xperia phone will probably have the same specifications. The only difference will be the SIM support.

GSM Arena shares the possible specs of the phones. They both will supposedly have a 5.2" 1080p or QHD screen. A Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB of RAM will be installed on both devices. The phones will also have 21MP cameras, waterproof bodies, and stereo speakers.

Geek Snack believes that the leaked screenshots are proof that Sony is still working on the handset and might even be ahead of schedule. This is good news considering the fact that CEO Kazno Hirai had stated Sony might renounce, sell, or merge its mobile division. The announcement left Sony Xperia fans wondering about the Z4 and its release.

Leaked e-mails between Sony and product placement managers reveal that the new Xperia will supposedly be launched between May and November of this year, reports Geek Snack.
