Ten years after Square Enix first revealed its plans to release "Final Fantasy XV," the game publisher is finally launching the action role-playing video game in a big way. In fact, "Final Fantasy XV" will be launched in four different parts - a massive game, a full-length film, an anime series and a spin-off mobile game.
The year 2016 is perhaps the toughest Game of the Year season as several highly successful game titles are vying for the recognition. According to TechnoBuffalo, "Final Fantasy XV" has a big chance to attract a lot of attention and be fitted candidate for Game of the Year award as it launches this September and below are some of the exciting details about the game.
Square Enix Collaborates With Streamline Studios To Develop 'Final Fantasy XV'
For its global production platform, Square Enix enlisted the help of Kuala Lumpur-based developer Streamline Studios to develop "Final Fantasy XV." Streamline will reportedly provide their Streamframe platform and no other further details have been revealed.
"Our team are big fans of Square Enix and their games, and we're honored to have worked with them on the upcoming release of such a cherished series as Final Fantasy," Streamline Studio CEO Alexander L. Fernandez said in a press release statement, as per PlayStation LifeStyle. "We look forward to applying our years of production experience and state-of-the-art technology, Streamframe to this new collaboration."
'Final Fantasy XV' North American Box Art Revealed!
"Final Fantasy XV" North American box art is now out and it will be reportedly the same for both PS4 and Xbox One. The box art is reversible but doesn't feature any crystal, iDigitalTimes notes.
'Final Fantasy XV' Plot
"Final Fantasy XV" will depict the tale of a young prince's journey a he reclaims his throne from the control of the imperial army, GameSpot reveals. Together with his closest friends, Noctis, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Lucis, will travel through the mystical realm of Eos and run into "larger-than-life beasts and unforgiving enemies."
'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date And Other Details
Square Enix has announced that "Final Fantasy XV" will be released on Sept. 30 on Xbox One and PS4 platforms. According to "Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata, the game will be completed in 40-50 hours, noting fans will enjoy "a lot of content," Den of Geek learns.
"In terms of clearing the main story, we're anticipating about 40-50 hours of gameplay," Tabata said, IGN quotes. "At the very least there will be 40 hours of content to enjoy. But there are a lot of side quests and other extra things. With just the extra stuff alone, we're looking at maybe 100 hours of gameplay. So if you count all of that, maybe we're looking at around 200 hours of gameplay."
'Final Fantasy XV' VR Version
As for "Final Fantasy XV" trailers, Square Enix has released several versions and you can check it out here. "Final Fantasy XV" VR experience has also been revealed but fans should remember that the full "Final Fantasy XV" game is not playable using the PlayStation VR device, instead the VR experience is a "special optional mode" where fans can play the role of Prompto, Attack of the Fanboy reports.
