A special event hosted by game publisher Atlus is coming up for "Persona 5" eager gamers and the company is making sure that it will be something to watch out for. Already, Atlus is teasing there will be at least seven announcements and everything will be revealed on July 19.
At the Nico Nico site, Atlus has set up a poster announcing the special event, which will be held at the Tokyo National Museum. However, it will still be accessible for gamers located overseas as the event will be streamed live at 7:30 p.m. local Japanese time.
Per Gematsu, the poster on the site indicates two sides. One part has the words, "Take the treasure from the Tokyo National Museum," along with the image of the "Persona 5" protagonist. The other side implies the coming "seven new announcements." Gematsu also notes that the official site has been updated with a countdown timer featuring seven different clocks.
Of course, no one has any clue about what these mysterious "Persona 5" announcements will be and fans are already drawing up different conclusions. Some speculations include:
- a downloadable and playable "Persona 5" demo
- a game release for European fans
- an exposition of the "Persona 5" gameplay
- additional game footage or teaser
- new character additions in "Persona 5"
- game feature demonstrations, such as weapons
- a potential reference to the seven deadly sins that figures a lot into previous "Persona" games
However, Gamespot notes that the seven announcements are likely for Japan audience only especially since "Persona 5" is already for release this coming September in that region. In North America, "Persona 5" players will be able to get their hands on the game a few months later, specifically on Feb. 14, 2017.
Gamespot also notes that there is no such poster or timer in the "Persona 5" English site, which has earned complaints from the gamers. Some note that Atlus seems to have little regard for its English-speaking audience, when there is a huge market of "Persona" followers around the world. But hopefully, the Japan event will also cover its English releases, albeit even without the fanfare and the announcements.
