Adam Levine proved he had what it takes to be a famous singer by auditioning for "The Voice." All four judge chairs turned for him as he belted out a song by Elton John.
The Maroon 5 singer traded in his chair as a judge for a time on "The Voice's" stage. The already famous singer tested if he could make it through the blind auditions of the show. He casually sauntered up the stage asking, "Can I audition?"
The crowd clapped and encouraged him on, while his fellow judges stayed on their chairs. As the lights on stage dimmed, Levine jokingly says, "I'm so terrified," reports the Rappler.
For his audition piece, Levine chose "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. To no one's surprise, all four judges' chairs turned, including his own empty chair, states Yahoo. According to Daily Mail, Christina Aguillera was the first to turn around. Blake and Williams pressed the buttons right after Christina.
Adam also took to his seat, jokingly telling the empty chair, "Come on, Adam, Don't be a hold out." Pharrell helped Adam out by pressing the button on his chair for him.
Adam cuts the song after a few minutes of singing and then precedes to "decide" which judge to pick for a coach. Blake points at himself, seemingly inviting Adam to his team. However, Levine eventually picks Christina Aguillera for his coach.
Christina comments on the latest addition to her team. Acording to Yahoo, the singer said, "There's some things that need some tweaking and fine-tuning...but I could take Adam to the very end."
Blake also made a comment on Adam's performance, noted Rappler.
"Of all the performances we saw today, they were all great, except for one. Some guy name Adam Levine felt the need to try to audition. And I did hit my button, but it's just 'cause I wanted to see what the freak looked like."
As for the rest of the blind auditions, Christina seems to have recruited the contestant who gave the best performance of the night, reports Mucic Times. India Carney chose to join Christina's team after impressing the judges with her rendition of "New York State of Mind" by Billy Joel.
Daily Mail reports that Carney is a music student in UCLA. She attended La Gaurdia High School, which is known as the "Fame" school, featured in the 1980's movie.
