Free games for the PlayStation Now has been released. The list includes "InFamous 2" and "Alone in the Dark: Inferno."
According to Polygon, "InFamous 2" is an exclusive PS game. Sucker Punch Production created the game which centers around Cole MacGrath, notes Christian Today. The character goes on a mission to defeat the Beast who destroyed the world. It features time travel as MacGrath receives advice from his future self to find and defeat his villains.
"Alone in the Dark: Inferno" is also included as a free title for this month. Christian Today explains that the game is a survival horror video game. Players go through terrifying settings in order to save an apocalyptic New York City. IGN adds that the game's storyline is split into 30-40 minute distinct episodes, each ending in a "nail-biting" cliff-hanger.
Another PS exclusive, "Twisted Metal," will also be available for free to PS Now subscribers, states Game Spot. The title is a multiplayer combat video game. Its aim is "vehicular carnage" with Sweet Tooth, a manic clown-themed serial killer, taking control.
Game Spot adds that "R-Type Dimensions" and "Operation Flashpoint: Red River" will also be released for free.
"R-Type Dimensions" is a side-scrolling shooter that combines "R-Type 1" and "R-Type 2," which shift between the original and refitted graphics, explains Christian Today.
Meanwhile, "Operation Flashpoint: Red River," is a tactical shooter game released in 2011. Christian Today describes it as the "full intense modern day shooter experience."
Polygon adds that the following titles are also available in the catalogue: "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," "God of War HD," and "God of War 2 HD."
PlayStation Now was launched on January 28, 2015. Gamers who subscribe to the all-access service can choose from over 100 games to play for a monthly fee of $19.99. Subscribers can also get a three-month deal for $44.99, which would amount to $15 per month. If gamers are still unsure about subscribing, there is a 7-day free trial service.
It must be noted, however, that subscriptions to the all-access service is limited to PlayStation 4 owners only, reports Game Spot. However, the PS Now does offer a broad selection of games on a rental basis for an individual cost. The rented games are offered for systems like the PS3 and the PlayStation Vita.
