There are times that you feel healthy but you do not really know what lies under your skin. You are young but there is always the possibility of dying young. One silent killer that you may develop having an unheatlthy eating habit is Diabetes. One kid of Diabetes is T1D.
Web MD defines T1D as the:
"Diabetes (that) happens when your immune system destroys cells in your pancreas called beta cells. They're the ones that make insulin. Some people get a condition called secondary diabetes. It's similar to type 1, except the immune system doesn't destroy your beta cells. They're wiped out by something else, like a disease or an injury to your pancreas."
In my personal life, diabetes and high blood pressure run through the family. My mom died at the age of 46 from heart failure due to diabetes. It was terrible to lose my mother die that way knowing that she seemed healthy and then just suddenly gone after having fever for five days. She used to drink soda every after meal almost everyday since she was in her 20's. Perhaps, that has contributed a lot to her diabetes.
It is often believed that when any of your parents has diabetes, you have the possibility of having diabetes too when you grow older. This may be proven otherwise. Harvard nutritionist and Integrative medicine expert, Dr. Terry Shintani, says that you can reverse diabetes even within ten days. Nonetheless, there are still cases that need more serious medication. T1D on the other hand still has many cases that need to be studied.
Scientists from Harvard are still studying how to innovate the production of beta cells from stem cells and the development and testing of devices for implantation that would protect the functional beta cells from being attacked by the immune system. Any of these can be a real huge milestone in treating one of the major diseases in the world.
Meanwhile, it is best not to resort to an unhealthy diet that includes fatty foods, sodas, and those with high preservatives. Aging starts at 28. By this age, you will start feeling old and sick but you can fight it. Avoid the development of diseases such as diabetes by disciplining yourself in developing healthy eating habits.
